Getting Ready for Tax Time

Tuesday January 27, 2009
Tax documents of all sorts arrive in our mailboxes from late January to early February. Now is a good time to make a little file folder and checklist to keep track of the documents you need before you can prepare your taxes.

What I do personally is I have a file folder for the year. On the outside of the folder I make a little checklist for the different types of documents I'm expecting to receive. That way I can check off items as I receive them and place them into the folder. And when everything is checked off, then I know I can sit down and start preparing my taxes.

Not sure what documents you should be looking for? Here's a list of common tax documents that you'll need.
